The health and safety of learners, staff and visitors are very important to us and is the top priority.
The School promotes the security and safeguarding of all.
The school site has been designed to ensure a secure line for learners to provide a safe environment throughout the school day. Access control inside the building ensures that learners only enter the areas for their personal curriculum provision.
Lower School learners will spend the majority of their time in their own classroom and breakout areas (indoor and outdoor), apart from access to the Chapel, Sports Hall, Drama Studio and Dining Room. The Lower School play areas are secure and separate from Upper School and public access.
Upper School learners use a variety of classrooms and specialist areas during the day and have access to shared spaces such as the Chapel, Dining Room and Sports Hall in accordance with the timetable. The Upper School play areas are secure and separate from Lower School and public access
The Health and Safety Policy includes arrangements for arrival at school, day to day arrangements regarding break times and lunchtime and the collection of pupils at the end of the day. There are procedures for safe evacuation of the building and for off site educational visits.

Christ the Word Catholic School will build on the ethos, success and achievements at the core of education provision across the Diocese. It will be a strong and nurturing learning community.
This fantastic new school will help us achieve our goal of providing modern facilities across Denbighshire that further enhance pupils’ learning.
I am delighted that the partnership of Welsh Government, Denbighshire County Council and the Catholic Church will deliver a brand new school to serve the families of Rhyl and the surrounding parishes.
