Welcome

Christ the Word Catholic School is a brand new school for learners from the primary and secondary age groups.

Our new school is an inclusive community that supports learners on their learning journey from the age of 3 to the age of 16. We will equip our young people with the skills to become kind and active citizens.

Our school ethos is based on the Gospel values of Faith, Hope and Love.
Our values are kindness, forgiveness, respect and integrity.
We respect the values of others and we welcome children of all faiths into our school.

Our experienced staff team provide high quality learning experiences in a happy and caring environment. We are committed to realising the potential of every child in terms of their academic achievements and their personal and social development.

Christ the Word Catholic School is committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of everyone in school. Every person acting in a professional capacity, whether this be paid or voluntary, has a responsibility to act in a professional and appropriate way around children. We all have a joint responsibility to safeguard the children in our care.

Our learners have a right to a supportive, caring and safe environment and to protection from all types of abuse. Our staff are vigilant for signs of any student in distress and are confident about applying the processes to avert and alleviate any such problems.

Our Safeguarding Policy and procedures are in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the students in our care. All staff (including supply staff, volunteers and governors) ensure that they are aware of these procedures.

Any concerns regarding neglect or physical, emotional or sexual abuse are addressed in accordance with the All Wales Child Protection Procedures.

Staff report any concerns they have to a member of the safeguarding team who is trained to work with professional colleagues as well as other relevant agencies such as Health and Social Services to ensure all concerns are dealt with in a timely and successful manner.

If your child is ever concerned about their safety or wellbeing or about a friend, they should talk to their teacher or another member of school staff.
