Imagine waking up in the morning and not being able to remember anything that had happened so far in your life. How could you decide what to do that day? What to wear? Where to go? Who to talk to? Without history, our world would be like this. We would be unable to make decisions without understanding how we had got here or the consequences of the decisions we had made in the past. GCSE History gives you a terrific opportunity to investigate key issues in the past that help us to make more sense of the world we live in today. History teaches us what it means to be human. It provides us with a record of human achievement and experience; it improves judgement, supports cultural understanding, identity and dialogue and makes us better thinkers.
During GCSE History, you will develop essential key skills for a wide range of jobs, including analysis, evaluation, problem solving, communication and use of ICT. History graduates are among the most employable, possibly because they possess the skills employers are looking for.

This fantastic new school will help us achieve our goal of providing modern facilities across Denbighshire that further enhance pupils’ learning.
I am delighted that the partnership of Welsh Government, Denbighshire County Council and the Catholic Church will deliver a brand new school to serve the families of Rhyl and the surrounding parishes.
