The Welsh Baccalaureate supports learners to consolidate and develop integral and cross curricular skills. The qualification helps learners to prepare for their future by developing skills, attributes and behaviours valued by educators and potential employers.

The Welsh Baccalaureate is based on the Skills Challenge Certificate and Supporting Qualifications. The Skills Challenge Certificate is a single GCSE and consists of three components:
Enterprise and Employability Challenge
To develop Digital Literacy, Creativity and Innovation, Personal Effectiveness skills and attributes to enhance employability.
Global Citizenship Challenge
To develop Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Creativity and Innovation skills and provide opportunities to understand and respond to global issues.
Individual Project
To develop Digital Literacy, Planning and Organisation, Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving skills through carrying out a research project in an area of personal interest.
The Supporting Qualifications include two core GCSEs, English Language and Mathematics/Numeracy, and three further GCSE/BTECs. Depending on what grades you gain in these, you will be awarded either National or Foundation Level.
