Why choose GCSE Photography?

GCSE Photography is an exciting and creative course that allows students to explore the art of capturing still and moving images. Photography is all about using light and lens-based media—whether through traditional film and darkroom techniques or modern digital processes.

What will you do?

Students will develop technical skills in photography while also exploring the work of historical and contemporary photographers. They will experiment with different styles, techniques, and equipment, gaining a deeper understanding of the purpose and impact of photography in different contexts.

The course offers opportunities to work with a variety of techniques, including:

  • Photograms and pinhole cameras
  • Digital photography and editing
  • Time-lapse photography and stop-frame animation
  • Photomontage and digital manipulation

Students will also research real-world photography careers, such as advertising, photojournalism, fashion photography, wildlife photography, and filmmaking.
