Children currently in Year 6 at Christ the Word Catholic school  have the right to transfer to Secondary Phase (Year 7) at the end of Year 6.  Parents of these children do not need to complete an application form for Year 7 at Christ the Word Catholic School. 

Late applications are dealt with after the on-time submissions. Late applications will be considered together, regardless of date received, against the oversubscription criteria detailed in the Denbighshire Schools guide.

In line with the Education (Co-ordination of School Admission Arrangements and Miscellaneous Amendments) (Wales) Regulations 2024, all normal admissions round applications for starting at Christ the Word School in September 2027 must be made through the applicant’s Local Authority.

Denbighshire residents should complete the common application form available on the Denbighshire County Council website:

Applicants living outside Denbighshire should apply through their own Local Authority, who will share applications with the school as part of the coordinated admissions process.
